John Kornhaus - Vice President, Finance

John P. Kornhaus joined Dean Realty Co. in May 2006 as controller. He was promoted to vice
president-finance in April 2007. John is a CPA with extensive experience in corporate finance working in both a closely held company environment as well as a subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company. John is a Kansas City native and a graduate of Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, major in Accounting. From 1977 to 1980, he worked in public accounting in the Kansas City office of Grant Thornton LLP, a national CPA firm. His audit experience included a variety of industries, notably construction and manufacturing.

During 1980-2001, John worked at Bremson Inc., a Kansas City based manufacturer and software developer for the photographic industry. He joined the company as controller and was later made vice president-finance, helping grow the company from a small start-up to a profitable industry leader. Bremson was purchased by Eastman Kodak Company in 2001, and John became an integral member of the management team retained by Kodak to operate the subsidiary. Some of his major accomplishments during his five years with Kodak include: driving operating efficiencies in manufacturing and accounting, thereby increasing cash flow; developing internal controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; and implementing a new ERP software system.

Today John is a valuable member of the Dean Realty management team with direct responsibility for the financial reporting, accounting, purchasing and IT functions. He is the primary contact for the company's banking and financing needs.

John is a member of the Kansas Society of CPA's and Financial Executives International. He serves on the Board of Directors of Rosedale Development Association, a non-profit community organization.

John enjoys spending time with his family, sports and playing golf.
