Jon Peters joined Dean Realty Company in November of 2009 as a Project Supervisor, bringing six years of construction management experience that includes estimation, new construction, tenant finish, retail development and historical renovation. He graduated from Kansas State University in 2003 with a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology.
Following graduation, Jon worked in estimation and project management roles in Wichita, Kansas, for a commercial general contractor. Project types he managed include educational, a medical office, convenience stores, a municipal building, tenant improvements and renovation of a historical building. Other projects included renovation of the Wichita State cafeteria and restaurant tenant finish.
Upon relocating to Kansas City in May of 2006, Jon took a Project Manager position with a national general contractor based in Grandview, Missouri. The company's primary construction focus was hospitality development, and while there Jon completed two 70+ room hotel projects, site developments and a convenience store.
In July of 2007, Jon served as Project Manager for a commercial general contractor, Titan Construction, located in Olathe, Kansas, where he was instrumental in completing local Kansas City-area projects. He managed development of a new 50,000 square foot, two-story genealogy library constructed in Independence, Missouri. The detailed project involved a unique HVAC system, which allowed climate control for multiple small zones throughout the building. The system utilized two drop ceilings and computer building controls to provide efficient temperature control.
In addition to the library project, Jon estimated construction of a maintenance building, a negotiated project. The facility was a pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete structure which included a large maintenance area accommodating four school buses and an office/common area for the department staff.
In his spare time, Jon enjoys target shooting, home improvement projects, and spending time with friends and family.
